FAQ

Does Cedarcide Original work against all bugs?

Cedarcide Original is third-party tested for fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, ants, mites, chiggers, roaches, wasps, and scorpions. However, our products have been popular for a larger range of pests for over 20 years.

Is it safe to use on children and pets?

Of course! Cedarcide Original is non-toxic, family-safe, and pet-friendly when used as directed.

How often should I apply?

Apply before outdoor activities that could expose you or your pets to biting bugs. Reapply every 5–7 hours or after getting wet. See “Instructions” on the label for more details.

Can it be used outdoors as well as indoors?

While you can apply Original to people and pets outdoors, as well as spray bugs directly on hard surfaces, Original is not plant safe, so exercise caution when using it around grass or other greenery. For lawn protection, go with Outdoor Bug Control instead.

Is it eco-friendly and non-toxic?

Yes! Original is non-toxic, family-safe, pet-friendly and safe for our planet, when used as directed.

Will it leave stains or residue on clothing or other surfaces?

No, Cedarcide Original is designed to dry quickly and not stain. You can use it on clothing, fabrics, furniture, carpeting, and more. For delicate items, we suggest testing on a small area first.

How long do Cedarcide products last?

As long as you store them in a cool, dry place out of sunlight and freezing temps, they should last approx. 2 years before slowly losing effectiveness. They never go bad or become harmful, they simply lose potency after 2 years.

Awesome Product!!

"We live in Florida and have been using this for a few years now after cancelling our pest control service. We have four dogs, and had to be with them outside while the service sprayed around the house. And then had to try and keep them away from the wet product in the whole house till it dried. Since using Cedarcide we have had one or two bugs in the house every few months. Certainly less than when we were using the monthly service. For us, this product is a win, win!!"

Cedarcide

"For being organic and all natural, it works pretty good actually it works very well. The only problem I have is that when my cats see it they RUN!! And it has to be reapplied fairly frequently to our pets. But it does work pretty well and I love the fact that it is not full of chemicals."

After 10. 5 years on Cedarcide

"My Ridgeback’s annual tick exam just came back once again, and it’s negative again That’s 10. 5 years on this product. Her whole life. Having lost a pup to Lyme desease years ago, using g another product I might add, it’s wonderful to know this stuff is clean and totally effective! Thank you, thank you , Thank you !"

Great balance of scent and spray

"Not overpowering in scent and the spray comes out as a nice mist that our German Shepherd tolerates well. Have only used for a few days. . . . the proof will be when conditions change here in SW Wisconsin and the deer ticks get crazy. It has been a bad year already."

It doesn't get better

"You know I've tried a lot of pest deterrents and a multitude of other things for ticks chiggers and fleas every one of them has something of an effect they claim, but not a single one I have found works in a similar fashion like cedarcide. It is hands down the best I have ever found. Not to mention if you got bit up before you put it on and then you apply it, it has a soothing effect on the itchiness of the insect bites you already have. I am a cedarcide for Life guy"

Bug spray

"Definitely helped with lawn and bushes. Before when I mowed lawn was bitten all over my back. After spraying no bites. It has been a life saver."

Diane L. (5/5)

great for rescue kitten house

"I rescue and TNR cats and kittens. I have an all season room in my barn setup for them while in my care. This is the absolute best to spray around the baseboards and doorways and other areas with outside exposure. I always spray between each group and litter I foster to keep spiders, roaches and all other crawlers away from them. An absolute and safe product. I highly recommend to anyone who needs a safe, non-toxic product on surfaces that animals can come be around."

Pest control

"I've used Cedarcide off and on for years for serious pest control. When we were fighting an invasion of stink bugs I found nothing worked like Cedarcide, same with ants. It's my go to from now on."

Claudia B. (5/5)

All Natural Bug Spray that actually works

"I’ve tried a lot of bug repellents, and Cedarcide is by far the best natural option I’ve found. I’ve used it everywhere from riding my side-by-side through the deep woods of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula to sitting outside on a Texas ranch, and I wasn’t bitten once. It works great against mosquitoes and ticks, smells pleasant, and doesn’t have the harsh chemical odor of traditional bug sprays. I’ll definitely continue using it."

Work well

"Works well just wish the gallon jug was not $120 but it is what it is otherwise product did work"

What is the difference between this and the All Purpose Bug Spray?
Hi, Kathy! Original is our classic bug spray, whereas APBS is our mildest, water-based bug spray. Original is about twice as strong and sticks around longer to repel :)

Hi there, Billie! While we have many customers use our bug sprays on pets of all sizes, however we say that 5 pounds is a cut-off point for checking with your vet before use :) We're also available at 800-842-1464 if you need anything else or have more questions.
