Extend the life of any wood project
Protects all wood types from moisture, rot, decay, warping, splintering and pest damage.
Gallon: Treats up to 200 sq. ft.
**Coverage varies depending on type and thickness of wood.
How does Cedarshield work?
Unlike less effective wood treatments and seals, Cedarshield soaks all the way through the wood, protecting it from the inside out. This hardens and strengthens the wood against rot, decay, warping, splintering, moisture damage and more.
Can it be used on all types of wood?
Of course! Cedarshield can be used on all wood types and projects, new or old, including treated, sealed and painted wood.
How often do I need to apply?
In most instances, Cedarshield is a one-and-done lifetime treatment. As a precaution, we suggest re-checking the wood in about 7 years.
Can it be used to treat older wood that’s already damaged by water or pests?
It sure can! While Cedarshield won’t reverse pre-existing damage, it will help prevent that damage from getting worse and dramatically extend the life of the wood.
Will the product change the color or appearance of wood?
Nope—Cedarshield does not change the color or appearance of wood. However, you are free to paint or stain the wood 72 hours after your final Cedarshield application.
Is it safe to use around pets and children?
Yes, when used as directed, Cedarshield is safe to use around pets and children, and will not leach out into the environment or soil after it’s fully dried (about 72 hours).
Start by removing any dirt or debris to prep the wood for application. Then, lightly wet the surface. Cedarshield applies best to damp wood.
Wearing gloves, use a brush, roller, submersion or a sprayer to apply. You’ll know you have a full application when Cedarshield beads up on the surface and will no longer soak into the wood. Cedarshield works best when applied in temperatures above 45°F.
Allow 72 hours for Cedarshield to fully dry before getting wet. Then, you’re free to paint, stain, or seal. Cedarshield is usually a one-time, lifetime treatment.
For projects thicker than 2X4 inches, apply to both sides of the wood when possible for quicker application. For larger projects, an additional application may be required after 5-7 years.

"Applies easily with a spray applicator. Noticed the next day the carpenter bees had abandoned the wood. Seems to have long term impact."
"Worked fantastic on the wood under the sink that got water damage. I was able to return my items to their original place, The product spread well and I have lots left over for more projects."
"One application addressed my problem thanks"
"Great product use on my first fence lasted 12yrs. Before having to replace."
"Will have to order more 4 gallons was not enough"
"I already sent a review but will repeat all I had said previously - great product, non toxic! since we have grandkids and animals . . . plus don't feel like breathing in toxic fumes . . . since I don't use a contractor but breath in whatever fumes are emitted while applying the Cedarshield Wood Penetrant! The boards on my 2 decks reject a lot of moisture by now - but neither deck is satisfied yet. So I will just continue applying more layers of this stuff - I am sure there are cheaper versions of this but I will stick with Cedarshield until both decks will be satisfied . . ."
"We will see how it works just treated it for winter. Will see how well it holds up. Application was reasonably easy."
"This product seems to be working great on my cedar deck. It is in a place that has been very challenging for other finishes on my old deck and I'm very happy so far with how this is looking six months later at this point."
"Only time will tell. I like the smell though. Is this product environmentally friendly?"
